In a few decades, the relationship between the environment, resources and conflict may seem almost as obvious as the connection we see today between human rights, democracy and peace. -Wangari Maathai
Our passion is to spark dialogues and fuel conversation between young people and the environment. We believe picture books have the power and possibility to inspire young people to consider, reflect, and think about issues pertaining to the environment and human rights. At GreenLiteracy.org, we share our resources of where to find picture books about the environment, lesson plans and class projects. We invite others to join us by reviewing books, posting lesson plans and projects or supporting GreenLitereacy.org through sharing it others. Everything is interconnected– from the smallest to the largest. We are one.
Help your students, your children, and you start conversation about how to engage with the environment.
